Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol are investigating a fatality crash along Anclote Boulevard in Tarpon Springs. The crash occurred at approximately 5:20 p.m. on Sunday, June 5, 2022.
According to troopers, the 24 year-old female driver from Holiday was traveling northbound on Oakmont Avenue south of Anclote Boulevard. She failed to stop the vehicle at the stop sign and collided with an SUV at the intersection. The collision caused the SUV to rotate and strike a pedestrian walking along the shoulder of Anclote Boulevard.
The 42 year-old female pedestrian from Dickson, Tennessee was transported to the hospital where she died from her injuries.
Neither the 51 year-old female driver of the SUV nor her 51 year-old and 16 year-old passengers were injured.
The driver of the vehicle that failed to yield to the SUV was not injured in the crash.
The investigation continues.
