Units from the Clearwater Police and Clearwater Fire & Rescue responded to reports of a rollover crash at approximately 11:30 a.m. on Friday, January 26, 2024. The crash occurred in the northbound lanes of US-19 south of Gulf to Bay Boulevard.
Two occupants were extricated from the vehicle. One occupant, an adult male, was transported to the trauma center at Bayfront Health St. Petersburg. An air transport was requested for the second occupant, also an adult male.
Due to the grave condition of the second occupant, the air transport was canceled, and he was transported by ambulance to a local hospital.
Late on Friday, Clearwater Police reported that the 71-year-old male, has died as a result of injuries sustained in the crash.
US-19 N will be closed for an extended time during the investigation.
Traffic is being diverted to the northbound access road at Seville Blvd but extremely long delays are reported. Avoid the area.
