Crews Battling Brush Fire in Pasco County
Pasco County Fire Rescue, along with the Florida Forest Service, is on the scene of a very large brush fire at Gunn Highway and SR 54.
High winds are causing the flames to spread rapidly, making this a difficult fire to fight.

SR 54 is down to one lane, east of Gunn Highway, to make access easier for firefighting vehicles.
Residents are asked to avoid the area.

Pasco County is evacuating and shutting down Starkey Wilderness Park due to wildfires.
Bike trails into Starkey Park are also closed until further notice.
All camping reservations for Sunday are also cancelled.
*Temporary flight restrictions are in place around the area where the fire is burning which includes the operation of Drones.
