Crews From Largo Fire Rescue Taking Gunfire. All Safe But One Civilian Shot

Largo Police are currently on scene of a shooting scene on 62nd Street N just south of Whitney Road at the Oak Creek Apartment Complex.
Largo Fire Rescue responded to 2070 62nd St N, Oakcreek Apartments, for a patient with breathing difficulty. Crews were assisting the individual when an unrelated shooting occurred
nearby.
Shots were fired and the crews took cover.
Largo Police say this was unrelated to the call for service and involved two individuals, one was shot with non life threatening injuries and transported to the hospital.
Largo Police say the suspect is at large at this time.
No paramedics or fire fighters were injured during this exchange of gun fire.
Largo Police were able to arrive on-scene to protect the crews and are currently working to safely transport one civilian that was shot away from the active scene.
Largo Police are currently working to locate the shooter. Officers heard active gunfire as they were arriving on-scene. Largo Police are currently working to request assistance from the Sheriff’s Office.
The shooting appeared to have started after a verbal disagreement between two men at the apartment complex.
