Deadly home invasion under investigation in St. Petersburg

St. Petersburg Police detectives remain at the scene of a deadly shooting that occurred shortly before 2 a.m. on Wednesday, April 16, 2025. The incident took place at a residence located at 3401 40th Street North.

According to investigators, a resident of the home fired shots during the incident, striking one of the suspects. The injured suspect, an adult male, was transported to a hospital where he later died from his injuries. He has not yet been identified.

A second suspect fled the home and remains at large.

The deceased suspect has been identified as 20-year-old Marcel James Williams of St. Petersburg.
