Deputies from the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office are investigating a death after discovering a body in Lake St. George, off Tampa Road West of McMullen Booth Road.
On January 19, 2024, around 7:00 p.m., deputies responded to assist in the search for 85-year-old Clouster Bryant of 3321 Hunt Club Drive, Clearwater, reported missing by the Clearwater Police Department.
Bryant, who frequents Lake St. George, had gone fishing on his 13.8-foot Sears metal hull John Boat and never returned home.
Deputies located his pickup truck at the north boat ramp, and the Marine Unit found a capsized John Boat on the south side.
Bryant’s body, identified positively, was next to the boat, wearing a life jacket with fishing equipment nearby.
Authorities found no signs of recent vessel damage, and there is no indication of criminal involvement.
Next of kin has been informed, and the investigation is ongoing.
