Death Investigation Underway off S. Missouri Ave in Clearwater

Clearwater Police officers and detectives are currently in the process of a death investigation within a wooded area located behind 700 S. Missouri Ave.

The report was received at approximately 6:20 PM on Wednesday, August 23, 2023.

The body seems to have been in that location for an extended period.

On Thursday, Clearwater Police released the victim’s identity as 45-year-old Michael Wood.

The preliminary investigation has not revealed anything of a criminal nature.

The investigation is still ongoing.
