When deputies arrived at the home on the 100 block of Alpine Drive, Camacho had barricaded himself and the child inside a back bedroom. Deputies heard the child screaming for help and forced entry into the room.

According to HCSO, Camacho was holding a knife and refusing to release the child. He was wearing a motorcycle helmet and two tactical vests equipped with ballistic plates. After multiple commands to drop the weapon, Deputy Antonio Gonzalez, 25, fired his weapon, striking the suspect.
