Deputies Seek Public Aid After Cat Shot with Arrow in Unincorporated St. Petersburg

Detectives from Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office are seeking public assistance following an incident where a cat was shot with an arrow near 72nd Avenue North and 33rd Street North in Unincorporated St. Petersburg.

On January 31, 2024, the private organization, Cat Trap Fever Inc., captured a cat with an arrow lodged in its back. The cat underwent surgery at a local veterinarian, initially successful, but subsequent procedures were required, and it is currently in serious condition.

The cat is identified as a 3-year-old gray domestic shorthair, and the arrow is described as a black Wicked Ridge arrow with yellow fletching and an orange nock. Detectives interviewed neighbors who characterized the cat as “super friendly” and a familiar presence in the neighborhood.
