Clearwater Police Investigate Tuesday Night Shooting
CLEARWATER — Clearwater Police detectives are investigating a shooting that occurred Tuesday night, January 20, 2026, at the intersection of North Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue and Carlton Street.
Police said officers responded to the area at approximately 8:15 p.m. and located a 19-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound. Officers provided initial life-saving measures until Clearwater Fire & Rescue arrived. The victim was transported to the trauma center at Orlando Health Bayfront Hospital in St. Petersburg. As of Wednesday morning, he remains in critical condition.
Approximately 30 minutes after the initial shooting, a second 19-year-old man arrived at Mease Countryside Hospital with a gunshot wound. He was treated and released.
Investigators reported that multiple people were seen running from the scene following the shooting. No arrests have been announced.
