Detectives with the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office Robbery & Homicide Unit are investigating a double homicide following the discovery of two deceased adult females at a residence in unincorporated St. Petersburg.
On Saturday, April 12, 2025, at approximately 10:14 a.m., deputies responded to a 911 call reporting a homicide at 5252 108th Street North. Upon arrival, deputies located 34-year-old Christina Donzero in a bedroom with multiple stab wounds. In the garage, they found 75-year-old Betti “Suzanne” Thevenet Donzero, also with multiple stab wounds. Both were pronounced deceased at the scene.
Deputies located the suspect, 41-year-old Kirk Hysell Jr., in the home’s bathroom with self-inflicted stab and cut type injuries. He was transported to a Orlando Health Bayfront Hospital in St. Petersburg for treatment.
According to detectives, Hysell informed his daughter that he had killed his girlfriend and her mother, prompting the 911 call. During interviews, Hysell admitted to the killings and stated he had planned to kill the entire family. He also expressed intentions to harm additional family members and said he would repeat the act if released.

Hysell remains hospitalized and will be booked into the Pinellas County Jail upon release. He faces two counts of First-Degree Murder.
