Detectives investigating murder suicide in St. Petersburg

Detectives are conducting a death investigation in St. Petersburg.

Shortly after 1 p.m., on Thursday, October 20, 2022, police began investigating the suspicious death of a woman found in a condo at the Parkshore Plaza Condo, 300 Beach Drive NE.

A 70 year old woman, identified as Deborah Haugh failed to meet a friend for a planned meeting . They were concerned for her welfare and asked maintenance to check her condo. They entered and found the victim. Officers determined that Haugh died from violent trauma.

Through the investigation, it was discovered that Haugh’s boyfriend, 57 year-old Tracy Lukanic, committed suicide by jumping off the top floor of the Sundial Parking garage at 117 2nd Street N, earlier in the morning.
