CLEARWATER – At approximately 12:10 a.m. on Saturday, October 18, 2025, an Acura sedan driven by 31-year-old Alhan Eduardo Montes-Jaramillo of St. Petersburg was traveling southbound on South Keene Road when it left the roadway north of Hunt Lane.
The vehicle struck a fence at 1433 South Keene Road, continued across the yard, and collided with the front of the residence.
After the crash, Jaramillo fled the scene on foot but was apprehended several hundred feet away by a Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office K-9 deputy off of Redcoat Lane.
Troopers of the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) stated that Montes-Jaramillo had bloodshot, watery, and glassy eyes. They also mentioned a strong, distinct odor of an alcoholic beverage, swaying or balance problems, and that he was aggressive and combative. He reportedly grabbed the Troopers fingers and held them firmly to stop the changing of the handcuffs.
Jaramillo was arrested and charged with leaving the scene of a crash involving property damage, DUI involving property damage, refusal to submit to sobriety testing, and resisting arrest.
No injuries were reported at the residence.
