Driver Arrested After SUV Crashes Into St. Petersburg Home

ST. PETERSBURG, FL – Police have identified and arrested the driver involved in an early morning crash that sent an SUV into a home on 6th Street South.

Stephanie Lopez, age 28 was taken into custody and faces charges of DUI with property damage, driving with a suspended, canceled, or revoked license, and careless driving. A booking photo is not available at this time.

The incident occurred just before 3 a.m. on Monday at a residence located at 4600 6th Street South. According to police, Lopez was traveling southbound when she lost control of the vehicle and struck the home.

Two adults were inside the residence at the time but were not injured. Lopez, the sole occupant of the SUV, was transported to Orlando Health Bayfront Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Due to the extent of the damage, the residents were unable to stay in the home and have since relocated to a relative’s house.
