Arrest Made After Man Found Shot Dead in Vehicle in St. Petersburg

Lashaud Golden, age 19, is facing murder charges in the shooting death of 29 year-old Derrick L. Williams Jr.

On October 29th, Williams was found inside a vehicle with a single gunshot  wound to the head, in the 100 block of 38th St N.

Williams’ killer, Golden was arrested one day after the murder for an unrelated carjacking/shooting.

In this incident, Golden shot Gene Carter in the back during an attempt to rob him near 35th St. S and 4th Ave S.

Golden now faces 2nd degree murder, attempted felony murder, carjacking (with  weapon or firearm), and delinquent in possession of a firearm/electric weapon  or device charges.

Derrick Williams Jr, age 29, was found dead in a vehicle at approximately 9:15 p.m. on Monday, October 29, 2018,

St. Petersburg Police say, a call came from someone in a nearby house who thought they heard a crash and saw a driver slumped over in a grey sedan.

When police officers arrived to the location in the 100 block of 38th Street N, the car’s engine was still running.  They discovered the adult man who suffered a gunshot wound and was deceased.
