On Monday, January 15th, 2024 at approximately 7:15 p.m., a driver struck a cruiser with its emergency lights activated and parked for traffic control at 18th Avenue South and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr Street South.
The officer suffered minor injuries and was transported to the hospital for treatment.

The driver, 60-year-old James Anderson was determined to be impaired and was taken into custody.
He is facing the following charges
-DUI involving property damage
-Possession of a controlled substance, fentanyl
-Driving with license suspended or revoked
