DUI Manslaughter Arrest After Deadly Pedestrian Crash on MLK St. S. in St. Petersburg

St. Petersburg police are investigating a fatal pedestrian crash that occurred on Friday, February 21, at approximately 9:45 p.m.

According to authorities, a silver Land Rover SUV driven by Kimberly Barham, 28, of St. Petersburg, was traveling southbound on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Street South when she struck a pedestrian. The victim, Tevin Griffin, 31, also of St. Petersburg, was crossing the street in an unmarked crosswalk from west to east on the north side of 20th Avenue South.

Following the collision, Barham left the scene. Emergency responders transported Griffin to Orlando Health Bayfront Hospital in St. Petersburg, where he died from his injuries.

Police located Barham at her residence approximately an hour later. She was taken into custody and charged with DUI Manslaughter and Leaving the Scene of a Crash Involving Death.
