At Tuesday, August 20, 2024 at approximately 11:25 a.m. Dunedin Fire Rescue received a report of a structure fire at 1413 Overlea Dr in Dunedin.
First arriving units found heavy fire and smoke from the front garage area of a single story, single family residential structure.
The occupants had evacuated the structure safely. Crews began an initial attack of the fire in the garage. Once sufficient personnel were on scene, entrance was then made into the structure and two cats were rescued and turned over to the owners.
The fire was declared under control at 12:15 p.m. One Dunedin firefighter suffered a heat related injury and was transported to the hospital for evaluation.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation. Units from Palm Harbor, Clearwater, Safety Harbor, Sunstar, and PCSO assisted Dunedin units on the scene.
