Adam Samur, age 22 of Dunedin, was killed in a motorcycle crash that occurred in the southbound lanes of US-19 north of SR-52.  The crash occurred at approximately 9:27 p.m. on Thursday, May 30, 2019.

According to troopers, Samur was traveling at a high rate of speed on a 2006 Kawasaki motorcycle southbound in the inside lane of US-19, approaching the intersection of SR-52.

A 44 year-old male operating a 2018 Kia Rio was traveling in a southeast direction across southbound US 19 from the driveway of 12011 US-19 (Wendy’s Restaurant) and a 2018 Toyota Highlander was stopped facing south in  the inside left turn lane on US-19 at the intersection of SR-52.

Troopers say the Kia entered the path of the motorcycle. Samur was ejected from the motorcycle during the collision and then collided with the Highlander.

Samur, who was helmeted at the time of the crash, suffered fatal injuries at the scene of the crash.

No other injuries were reported.

Troopers do not believe alcohol played a role in the crash and state no charges are pending.
