Dunedin Woman Dies in Single Vehicle Crash; Medical Issue Suspected

The Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office Major Accident Investigation Team (M.A.I.T.) investigates a Dunedin woman’s death in a single vehicle crash Tuesday morning

According to investigators, the victim 69-year-old Jana Dissinger of Dunedin, was at her residence located at 1041 Milwaukee Avenue in Dunedin, when she entered her 2002 Lincoln LS 200 and placed the vehicle in drive. Dissinger’s vehicle drove into a nearby tree at a low speed, causing minor damage to her vehicle at about 10:45 AM.

When paramedics arrived on scene, Dissinger was unresponsive. Dissinger was transported to Mease Dunedin Hospital where she was pronounced deceased at about 11:10 a.m., on Tuesday, February 28, 2017.

Investigators believe that Dissinger suffered a medical episode that caused her vehicle to crash.

Investigators don’t believe that alcohol or speed were factors in the crash.

Next of kin has been notified.

The investigation continues.
