An elderly man was injured after his vehicle collided with a building. The incident took place at approximately 11:39 a.m. on Wednesday, December 4, 2019 in the 1600 block of Harbor Drive.
Clearwater Police and Clearwater Fire & Rescue arrived on-scene and treated the 82 year-old male driver. He was transported to Bayfront Health St. Petersburg as a trauma alert.
The building the man crashed into is a city of Clearwater building belonging to the Public Utilities Department. The facility is a wastewater treatment plant.
The driver suffered potential life-threatening injuries.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
