Elderly woman struck and killed by a vehicle while crossing 1st Avenue South in St. Petersburg

Officers from the St. Petersburg Police continue to investigate after a woman was struck and killed attempting to cross 1st Avenue S in St. Petersburg.

The crash occurred at approximately 8:47 a.m. on Monday, March 21, 2022. Investigators say that the driver of a brown Nissan Sentra was traveling eastbound in the 500
block of 1st Avenue South. The vehicle collided with 76 year-old Anne Gould of St. Petersburg as she attempted to walk south to north across 1 Avenue South.

Gould died at the scene of the crash. The driver, who remained at the scene, is cooperating with investigators.

The investigation continues.
