St. Petersburg Police Chief Anthony Holloway announced that investigators have upgraded charges against 33-year-old Kyle Hill of Pinellas Park in connection with a fatal traffic crash that occurred on March 9, 2025. Hill now faces charges of first-degree murder and attempted first-degree murder, in addition to his initial charges of DUI manslaughter and vehicular homicide.

The incident began shortly before 8 p.m. on Sunday, March 9, 2025, when Hill argued with his ex-girlfriend. After she left in a friend’s vehicle, Hill drove his Nissan SUV in an attempt to locate her. While traveling south on 34th Street near 30th Avenue North, he spotted a Honda, mistakenly believed it to be his ex-girlfriend’s vehicle, and initiated a pursuit.

Police say Hill called his ex-girlfriend during the chase, made threats, and aggressively pursued the Honda for several blocks. Inside the Honda were 35-year-old Norbelis Figueredo-Campos and his passenger, 28-year-old Arislenni Blanco-Medina, both from St. Petersburg, who were on their way to Walmart.

He forced them off the road near 17th Avenue North as they attempted to evade Hill. The Honda struck a concrete pole, which then fell and crushed the vehicle. Blanco-Medina was killed in the crash, while Figueredo-Campos sustained serious injuries.

Hill lost control of his SUV and collided with a tree in the median. Authorities determined that his blood alcohol content was more than twice the legal limit (.185) at the time of the crash.

Following the upgraded charges, Hill was booked into the Pinellas County Jail today.

In addition to the Degree Murder, Attempted First-Degree Murder, DUI manslaughter, and vehicle homicide charges that Hill faces, he also has been charged with violation of probation. Hill was on three years of probation at the time of the crash after entering a plea of guilty in a felony battery case in 2024.

The investigation remains ongoing.
