Fatal Crash Involving Electric Bike in St. Petersburg

A 34-year-old Bonita Springs man died following a crash involving an electric bicycle and a pickup truck on Sunday, July 13, 2025, in St. Petersburg.

The incident occurred at approximately 9:33 p.m. on 58th Avenue North, just west of 46th Way North. According to investigators from FHP, the electric bicycle was traveling eastbound on 58th Avenue North when it crossed the centerline into the path of a westbound Toyota Tacoma. The truck, operated by a 52-year-old Clearwater man, was unable to avoid the collision.

The electric bike operator was transported to an area hospital, where he later died as a result of his injuries.

The investigation is ongoing.
