Fatal Crash on US-301 Involving Wrong-Way Driver in Hillsborough County

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY – A woman has died following a crash that occurred at approximately 11:42 a.m. on Monday, October 20, 2025, along US-301 near Harney Baptist Church Road.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a 67-year-old woman from Riverview was driving a Nissan Altima northbound in the southbound lanes of US-301 due to a medical emergency. The Altima collided nearly head-on with a southbound Toyota Corolla driven by a 74-year-old woman from Valrico.

Both drivers sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to local hospitals. A passenger in the Corolla, an 80-year-old woman from Valrico, suffered serious injuries and was also transported to a hospital, where she later died.

The investigation remains ongoing.
