Fatal Crash Reported at 3501 54th Ave. S. in St. Petersburg

Shortly after noon on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, a woman driving a sedan accelerated for an unknown reason in the parking lot of a CVS store at 3501 54th Avenue South.

Police said the vehicle struck a tree near the side of the building. No other vehicles were involved.

The driver was transported to Orlando Health Bayfront Hospital, where she later died.

Her name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

No other injuries were reported. The crash remains under investigation.
