Fatal Crash Under Investigation on Roosevelt Boulevard

ST. PETERSBURG, FL — A man died following a crash at a gas station on Roosevelt Boulevard Tuesday morning.

According to investigators, just after 8:30 a.m., a Chevrolet Malibu driven by 63-year-old Johnnie Miller entered the parking lot of the Circle K located at 10600 Roosevelt Blvd N. The vehicle struck a parked Toyota Tacoma at one of the gas pumps, then continued forward, running over a traffic cone before coming to a stop.

After parking, Miller exited the vehicle and collapsed. Emergency crews responded and transported him to HCA Florida Northside Hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased.

Authorities believe Miller may have suffered a medical episode prior to the crash. The Medical Examiner’s Office will determine the official cause of death. His next of kin has been notified.
