Fatal motorcycle crash in St. Petersburg construction zone on 4th Street N

In the early morning of Thursday, September 7, 2023, a crash occurred on 4th Street N in St. Petersburg, resulting in a motorcyclist’s death.

At approximately 4:10 a.m., a 22-year-old male from Johns Island, SC, disregarded road closure signs and proceeded along the entrance ramp to northbound I-275 via 4th Street North.

Tragically, the helmeted motorcyclist collided with concrete barrier walls, leading to his ejection from the vehicle.

Following the crash, emergency responders transported the injured rider to Bayfront Health St. Petersburg. However, despite their efforts, the motorcyclist succumbed to the severe injuries sustained during the collision.
