On Friday, September 29, 2023, at approximately 11:52 p.m., deputies responded to the intersection of Tampa Road and Burbank Road in the City of Oldsmar for a vehicle crash involving a pedestrian.
According to investigators, a 68-year-old female driver was traveling in a 2002 Toyota Camry eastbound on Tampa Road in the center Lane.
The pedestrian, 78-year-old Frank Adams was crossing Tampa Road from north to south at the intersection of Burbank Road, not in a crosswalk.
Adams was using a roller walker to assist him in crossing the road and was struck in the eastbound lanes of Tampa Road by the Toyota Camry.
Adams was transported to the hospital and was later pronounced deceased. Speed and impairment are not factors in the crash.
Next of kin has been notified.
The investigation continues.
