Third suspect arrested in drug related fatal shooting in St. Petersburg

Officers from the St. Petersburg Police Department are investigating a shooting in the 100 block of 80th Avenue N.

On April 20, 2024, at approximately 1:18 p.m., officers responded about a person shot.

Officers located 21-year-old Marcus Rivers deceased at the scene. The next of kin has been notified.

A 17-year-old man was also located and transported to Orlando Health Bayfront St. Petersburg hospital with a gunshot wound. He is in stable condition at this time.

Investigators say this is an isolated incident; there is no danger to the public.

Detectives have determined that three men approached Rivers in his vehicle
when shots were fired, leaving Rivers dead and the 17-year-old injured.

The 17-year-old has been identified as Tyvion Royal, and he remains in critical but stable condition at the hospital. Royal is being charged with the following:
-1st Degree Felony Murder
-Armed Robbery
-Delinquent in Possession of Firearm

A second suspect, 16-year-old Samarion Douglas (09/18/2007), was later arrested, and
charged with the following:
-1st Degree Felony Murder
-Armed Robbery

St. Petersburg detectives arrested the third suspect, 16-year-old Randy Reynolds and he is charged with 1st Degree Felony Murder and Armed Robbery with a Deadly Weapon.

Detectives believe the suspects and the victim were known to each other and that the incident was drug-related.
