Investigators from the St. Petersburg Police Department (SPPD) are on-scene of a shooting death at 541 15th St. N. Officers responded after receiving a call concerning a person shot at approximately 1:38 a.m. on Friday, January 15, 2021.
When police arrived, they reported finding an adult man deceased. That man was identified as 30 year-old Matthew Reda.

Preliminary indications, according to SPPD, are that the Matthew Reda and his 62 year-old father, Jeffrey Paul Reda, were involved in an altercation which resulted in Matthew being fatally shot.
Jeffrey Reda has been cooperative and remains in custody. The investigation
continues as detectives speak with witnesses.
