MARION COUNTY – The Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) has arrested a Seminole, Florida woman in connection with a fatal hit-and-run crash that occurred in Marion County earlier this week.
According to FHP, the crash happened at approximately 7:57 p.m. on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, at the intersection of State Road 200 and SW 60th Street.
Troopers say a 76-year-old Ocala man was pushing a cart of groceries and walking north across the westbound lanes of SR-200 in a dark, unlit area. A westbound van struck the pedestrian with its front end and continued traveling west without stopping. The pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the scene .
On September 25, 2025, troopers arrested Somer Lynn Fox, 32, of Seminole, Florida, in connection with the crash. She has been charged with Failing to Stop/Remain at the Scene of a Crash Involving Death.
The case remains under investigation by FHP homicide investigators .
