Hillsborough — A four-vehicle crash on Interstate 4 just west of mile marker 21 near the Alexander Street exit resulted in a significant fuel leak and extended roadway closures on Wednesday evening. The crash occurred at approximately 7 p.m. on February 18, 2026.
According to authorities, a Chevy Silverado was traveling eastbound in the outside lane of Interstate 4. A Jeep Wrangler was traveling eastbound in the exit-only lane to Alexander Street. A Dodge Charger and an Amazon tractor-trailer were also traveling eastbound in the outside lane.
Near the Alexander Street exit, the driver of the Chevy Silverado changed lanes and collided with the Jeep Wrangler. The impact redirected the Silverado into the Dodge Charger. The Jeep Wrangler then collided with the Amazon tractor-trailer.
The tractor-trailer sustained a significant fuel leak, prompting the closure of portions of Interstate 4 for an extended period while crews worked to contain and clean up the spill.
