BRADENTON – Cedar Hammock Fire Rescue reports that at 8:05 AM, they responded to a reported gas leak.
There was a total of eight agencies that responded to assist in the mitigation of the scene. There were 2 fire engines, a ladder truck, and Battalion Chief from Cedar Hammock Fire Rescue, 3 fire engines and HAZMAT team from Southern Manatee Fire Rescue, 1 fire engine and a Battalion Chief from City of Bradenton Fire Rescue, Manatee County EMS medic unit, Manatee County Sherriff’s Office, Bradenton Police Department, and Manatee County Emergency
Management.
A reverse 911 call was initiated by Manatee County Emergency Management alerting of an evacuation due to a gas leak between 9th St. W. and 19th St. W. and between 30th Ave. W. and 21st Ave. W. TECO responded to the scene to work on securing the gas leak.
Around 12:00 pm the gas leak was secured and the scene was deescalated. All emergency units were released and TECO remained on scene. There were no injuries to emergency personnel or civilians.
