High-Speed Collision with Tree Ends in Tragedy for St. Petersburg Motorist

At approximately 5 a.m. on Sunday, July 30, 2023, a black Chevrolet Equinox, driven by 33-year-old Jajuan Iquan Thompson of St. Petersburg was traveling eastbound on Pinellas Point Drive at a high speed.

He failed to make the northbound turn, where Pinellas Point Drive South turns into 4th Street South. Thompson’s vehicle left the roadway and hit a tree.

Thompson was transported to Bayfront Health St. Petersburg and later died of his injuries.

The investigation by the St. Petersburg Police Department continues.
