Hillsborough County Fire Rescue Responds to 3-Alarm Scrapyard Fire

TAMPA, FL – Hillsborough County Fire Rescue (HCFR) is on scene of a large three-alarm fire at Liberty Recycle, located at 5207 St. Paul Street in Tampa.

At 9:28 a.m., HCFR’s 911 dispatch center received multiple reports of a fire at the scrapyard. Crews arrived to find heavy flames and quickly escalated the incident from a second to a third alarm.

A total of 37 HCFR units are working the fire, including aerial operations to contain and extinguish the blaze.

One firefighter was transported from the scene in stable condition.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
