Hillsborough Deputies Investigating a Kidnapping Involving a Separated Husband-Wife

Update at 1PM on Monday, March 13, 2017

Hillsborough County Sheriff David Gee held a 1 PM press conference to announce that Alisa Summers has been located alive.

Based on preliminary details, Trevor Summers contacted his 14 year-old daughter at the residence of Alisa Summers.  He asked her either late Friday night or Saturday morning to leave a window of the home open, stating he wanted to talk to his estranged wife.

He entered the home and made contact with the 14 year-old and instructed her to take his vehicle and drive down the road and wait for further communication.  He continued to communicate with her via cell phone.

At about 5:30AM, he asked her to return to the home, a couple blocks away, to pickup other children and drive to his address in Riverview.

Saturday night, HCSO received the first information of an issue based on the witness report outside of the Walgreen.  One of those witnesses was able to provide the license plate number to investigators which proved invaluable according to Sheriff Gee.

This morning, a citizen alerted HCSO of a car fitting the description that was disseminated to the public.  The vehicle was initially located near the The Inn at Little Harbor Resort at 611 Destiny Drive.

The witness followed the vehicle and continued to relay its location to law enforcement. Deputies followed it to the carport of home about 1 mile away.

Multiple Deputies converged around the vehicle. Sheriff Gee reports that Trevor resisted while she was able to escape out the back seat of the vehicle.

He had what is being described as a self-inflicted knife wound to neck. She had a wound to her wrist of unknown severity.  Both were transported to the hospital for medical care.

More information when made available in this ongoing investigation.
