Hillsborough: Driver Seriously Injured After Crash in I-75 Work Zone

A vehicle crash occurred on Thursday night in the construction work zone near Harney Road on Interstate 75, resulting in one driver sustaining severe injuries.

On Thursday, January 29, 2026, at approximately 10:50 p.m., a Mercedes GLC300 driven by a 44-year-old man from Brandon was traveling northbound on I-75 near Milepost 263. The vehicle entered a construction work zone and collided with a stationary, unoccupied Ford F-350 inside the closure.

The driver sustained serious injuries and was transported to an area hospital. No other injuries were reported.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), the crash remains under investigation.
