Homicide investigation underway after St. Petersburg shooting

At 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, August 30, 2023, an altercation occurred between two groups in the alley near 6th Avenue South between 29th and 31st Street South.

Several shots were fired, and two people were injured. A 17-year-old boy died of his injuries after being transported to the hospital, and an 18-year-old male suffered minor injuries.

Detectives are actively investigating. Anyone with information is urged to call St. Petersburg Police or text SPPD + your tip to TIP411.
