Booth was transported to Orlando Health Bayfront Hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

The incident was described as a planned armed kidnapping that resulted in Booth’s death. The suspects reportedly wore masks and scouted the area in advance. Booth was held at gunpoint by multiple individuals, including 19-year-old Keshawn Lamb of Largo, and co-defendants Larrion Boyd, age 18, of St. Petersburg, and 31-year-old Dnerius McCullough, and 19-year-old D’Antrell Davis of Bradenton.

Investigators say Booth was chased down in the street at gunpoint, forced back and forth from his residence, and had personal items taken from him under duress. Once at the suspect vehicle, investigators believe McCullough was the shooter in Booth’s murder. The suspects then fled in the car driven by Boyd.

McCullough was taken into custody in Hillsborough County on August 5, 2025. He has a lengthy criminal record in Pinellas County and served time in the Florida Department of Corrections. He was released from the Federal Bureau of Prisons in April of 2025. He is facing charges of 1st degree murder and kidnapping.

On Monday, August 11, 2025, D’Antrell Davis was arrested on charges of felony murder and kidnapping relating to the homicide of Reginald Booth, along with a charge of being a felon in possession of ammunition. He was booked into the Pinellas County Jail.

Police allege the killing was part of a robbery connected to a drug-related dispute. Boyd told investigators the suspects burned their clothing afterward and that the shooting was orchestrated by another suspect, Dnerius McCullough, as retaliation for a prior homicide involving an associate.

Detectives allege McCullough planned the incident in retaliation for the 2008 killing of Ruben Rivera, in which Reginald Booth was named as an involved party. Rivera was discovered deceased and burned in a vehicle in St. Petersburg. Boyd told police that after abandoning the rented Chrysler 300, the suspects were picked up by McCullough’s girlfriend, returned to 4061 15th Avenue South, and burned their clothing. McCullough allegedly left with the firearms and burned clothing remains.
