Incident Under Investigation at the Lowe’s on Ulmerton Road in Largo

Update 10:40 p.m. Store was cleared with nothing suspicious located. Investigation continues.
At approximately 8:56 p.m., Largo Police were dispatched to respond to the Lowe’s at 11101 Ulmerton Road.
Details are limited at this time. It appears that a caller reported that there was a customer in the parking lot that was upset over an internet order and armed with an AK-47 threatening to shoot the employees.
Another call received claimed that approximately 7 people were in the parking lot, armed with weapons and were threatening to blow up the store.
Multiple people were detained by officers but unknown if they were involved in this incident.
At this point, IONTB is unable to confirm that any weapons have been located or any contact has been made with any armed subjects.
Approximately 35 employees and customers were safely evacuated from the store.
As of 10:30 p.m., officers continue to search the building aisle by aisle.
