INDIAN SHORES — Detectives with the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office arrested a 38-year-old Indian Shores man following an investigation into alleged unlawful sexual conduct involving a minor.
According to investigators, the Crimes Against Children Unit received information on January 8, 2026, regarding inappropriate interactions between a 15-year-old female and the suspect, identified as 38-year-old Patrick Rainey Young.
Detectives said the victim and Young initially met while he was operating a scoreboard at his son’s non-school-related baseball game at Seminole High School. The outside organization operated the game through a lease agreement. During that encounter, Young allegedly made sexual comments about the victim and provided her with alcohol and nicotine.
The investigation found that the interactions continued at additional baseball games and through Instagram communications. Authorities said the conversations involved discussions of sexual acts and the exchange of nude images for money and other items.
Detectives determined that Young provided the victim with $300 after receiving a nude image. On other occasions, the victim reportedly received food in exchange for additional images.

Young was taken into custody and transported to the Pinellas County Jail. He faces one count of soliciting a child for unlawful sexual conduct using a computer or device, one count of harmful communication to a minor, and two counts of possession of child pornography.
Authorities confirmed that Young is the son of former U.S. Congressman Bill Young.
The investigation remains ongoing. Officials stated that no further information identifying the victim will be released in accordance with Florida law.
