Investigation underway after possible human remains found off I-275 south of the Howard Frankland Bridge

Officers from the St. Petersburg Police Department were called to the area of I-275 just south of the Howard Frankland Bridge. On January 28, 2022 at approximately 10 p.m., a citizen located what appeared to be human bones under heavy vegetation.

Detectives from the Major Crime Unit responded. The scene was processed and the bones were collected. Further investigation will be conducted in hopes of determining the identity of the unknown person.
