TARPON SPRINGS – Tonight at approximately 6:45 p.m., officers with the Tarpon Springs Police Department arrested a 15-year-old male in connection with a fatal shooting on the 1300 block of Starlight Cove.
The shooting occurred on Monday, January 20, 2025 at approximately 7:54 p.m.
Upon arrival, officers noticed that a person was unresponsive and began administering first aid. The person was subsequently transported to Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point by EMS, where they were pronounced deceased. This appears to be an isolated incident and there is no threat to the public.
The suspect, identified as 15-year-old Jeremiah Ashley faces a charge of first-degree murder. The victim has been identified as 36-year-old Candice Stinson.
Authorities have not disclosed additional details about the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
