ST. PETERSBURG — Lane closures will begin at 6 a.m. Friday, February 20, on Tyrone Boulevard (Alt U.S. 19) between 73rd Street North and 68th Street North.
The closures will be in place in both directions around the clock for approximately 10 days, weather permitting. One lane will remain open in each direction.
The temporary closures are required for paving operations and guardrail installation as part of the Alt U.S. 19 pavement rehabilitation project from 5th Avenue North to Park Street North in Pinellas County.
Electronic message boards and posted signage will direct drivers through the work zone. Motorists are advised to allow additional travel time and consider alternate routes due to potential delays on nearby roads. Access for businesses, residents, and emergency vehicles will be maintained.
The project includes replacement of concrete pavement slabs along Tyrone Boulevard from 5th Avenue North to Park Street North in St. Petersburg. Construction is expected to be completed in summer 2026.
