Largo Fire Rescue Responds to Two-Alarm Structure Fire

At approximately 4:15 a.m. on Tuesday, September 10, 2024, Largo Fire Rescue responded to a two-alarm structure fire at 12673 59th Way N. The address is the home of Florida Suncoast Plastering Inc.

Upon arrival, crews encountered heavy smoke and visible flames emanating from a commercial building.

Due to the severity of the situation, the fire was upgraded to a second alarm, prompting additional resources to be deployed.

Firefighters worked to contain and extinguish the fire. After a coordinated effort, the flames were successfully knocked down.

At one point, firefighters were evacuated from the structure due to a large crack forming on one of the walls along with the questionable integrity of the roof.

There were no occupants inside the structure at the time of the incident. However, one firefighter was transported to a nearby hospital for evaluation and treatment.

Support from neighboring agencies, including Sunstar, Pinellas County Sheriff, Pinellas Park, St. Petersburg, Lealman, and Seminole fire departments, was critical to managing the incident.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
