On Saturday, July 20, 2024, at approximately 9:38 a.m., Largo Fire Rescue was dispatched to a structure fire at Shangri-La Manufactured Home Community, located at 249 Jasper Street.
Upon arrival, crews encountered heavy smoke and flames emanating from a manufactured home. Firefighters removed one occupant from the home and extinguished the fire. It is believed that one cat perished in the fire.

The occupant is in critical condition and was transported to the hospital for emergent medical treatment.
The cause and origin of the fire are currently under investigation.
