Pinellas County – On Saturday, January 25, 2025, Largo Police responded to a report regarding a threatening social media post made on Instagram referencing plans to shoot up Largo High School.
Following an investigation, officers identified the source of the post as a 14-year-old student at Largo High School. Authorities utilized investigative resources to locate the suspect in Maryland, where the student was taken into custody on Sunday, January 26, 2025, under an arrest warrant.
The student has been charged with Threatening Communications or Threats of Mass Shooting.
The Largo Police Department emphasized its commitment to school safety and reiterated that all threats, whether online or in person, will be taken seriously, thoroughly investigated, and lead to severe consequences.
