Largo Man Killed in Hernando County Crash Saturday Evening

At approximately 10:30 PM on Saturday, January 31, 2014, 48 year-old Anthony Mounsey of Largo was killed in a single vehicle motorcycle crash. He was traveling westbound on CR-476 (Hayman Road) approaching the intersection of Batten Road.

According to Florida Highway Patrol, Mounsey, while driving a Yamaha FJR1300 failed to negotiate a left curve and traveled onto the north shoulder of the roadway. On the shoulder, the Yamaha struck a utility pole and overturned at which time ejecting Mounsey from the vehicle.
Mounsey flown to Bayonet Point Hospital where he later expired from injuries sustained in the crash. Mounsey was reportedly wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
