LARGO, Fla. — On December 22, 2025, the Largo Police Department released a video update with Petro Kuqo’s daughter, Linda Mita, and granddaughter, Elena Mita, renewing a request for public assistance in locating the missing and endangered 87-year-old man. Police said Petro Kuqo was last seen on Friday, December 12, 2025, walking in the parking lot of The Point of Clearwater Apartment Complex, located near Central Avenue and Frontage Road in Largo. Despite an extensive search by Largo Police and assisting agencies, he has not been located.
Largo Police Chief Mike Loux and Investigative Services Lieutenant Ryan Dulski, joined by Kuqo’s family, are urging residents and businesses to review any surveillance, security, or doorbell camera footage from December 12. Drivers are also asked to review dash camera footage, including delivery, rideshare, and commercial drivers who may have been in the area. Police stated that even brief or passing video may be relevant. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Largo Police Department at 727-587-6730.

Chief Loux previously provided an update during a news briefing held Monday, December 15, 2025. According to the Largo Police Department, Kuqo was last seen at approximately 9 a.m. on December 12. A doorbell camera captured him walking through the parking lot of the apartment complex where he lives.
Police said organized search efforts began immediately after Kuqo was reported missing and remain ongoing. Those efforts have included ground grid searches, canine deployments, and reviews of surveillance footage from businesses and private residences. Authorities have also conducted marine and aerial searches using drones and helicopters. Largo Police are working with the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office, Pasco County Sheriff’s Office, and the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission to expand search efforts using specialized units.
